This paper looks at the implications of the changing global economic and strategic order for Australia. The author lays out the main economic and political developments which are shaping the contemporary world and argues that the Australian Government should restore focus on its defense policy, the Australian-Chinese strategic dialogue, and increase cooperation with China in the Pacific Islands region.
