This book summarizes the main issues discussed at the World Summit on the Information Society held in Geneva in 2003. It addresses the challenges in overcoming the digital and knowledge divide as well as enabling access to information and communication technologies (ICTs), particularly in developing countries. The authors also examine the potential of ICTs in shaping the global society, addressing issues such as internet governance, regulation, and political participation.
