This commentary talks about the reconciliation process in Myanmar between the government and the country's ethnic and religious minorities, as well as the role played by the EU and Germany in the peace process. The authors provide an overview of the conflicts in the country, the peace process, and the chances for the successful establishment of federalism as well as inclusive political dialogue in the country. They conclude that the EU and Germany should support the introduction of federal structures and encourage dialogue in the country.
