This paper examines Pakistan's policy shift toward Afghanistan since the beginning of 2012. The author first discusses Pakistan's position on Afghanistan, focusing on the period between 2001 and 2012. He then examines the shift including the motivations behind it, and whether it opens any new opportunities for peace in Afghanistan. He concludes by saying that the 'shift' is more of a moderation than a transformation.
