This brief analyzes the changing patterns of the relationship between the two major players in the Gulf—Saudi Arabia and Iran—and Egypt. More specifically, the author looks at how the removal of Morsi, and the subsequent political uncertainty and violence that has engulfed Egypt has shifted the approach taken by the two Gulf countries towards the administration in Cairo.
