This paper examines the defense, strategic coordination and trade discussions that took place at a summit in September 2013 between Indian Prime Minister Singh and US President Obama. The topics covered include bilateral cooperation in security, bilateral trade and investment, energy and environment, higher education and global architecture; the progress in defense trade and cooperation; as well as the economic developments in India and its the impact on growth in bilateral trade. The author claims that the summit reinforced Indo-US relations even though some Indian national constituencies fear a loss of strategic autonomy.
