This commentary examines Saudi Arabia and Qatar's involvement in Egypt and other countries across the Middle East. It particularly focuses on the part played by Saudi Arabia in the ousting of President Morsi and Qatar's endorsement of political Islam, which includes the support of the Muslim Brotherhood. The author suggests that the downfall of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt may not lead to it losing Qatar as a backer, but it could change the country's policy toward popular revolts in the Middle East and North Africa.
