This commentary examines the efforts of ASEAN countries to enhance cybersecurity including the ASEAN ICT Masterplan 2015 (AIM2015). The author argues that ASEAN's member states should spur the creation of a pool of cybersecurity professionals and enact other measures to effectively respond to regional and international cybersecurity challenges. Doing this, she believes, will increase the attractiveness of the ASEAN region to foreign investors, increase its competitiveness, and improve cooperation on cross-border cybersecurity threats.
