This commentary discusses relaxing visa rules for Chinese tourists who wish to visit ASEAN countries. The author points out that, although ASEAN countries have greatly benefited from the increasing influx of tourists from mainland China, none of them has granted visa waivers to ordinary Chinese passport holders and that this situation is not in line with the organization's goal of greater connectivity in Asia.
