This brief addresses how including financial services regulatory cooperation and convergence in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the US and the EU could have potentially positive outcomes. The author argues that the inclusion could strengthen prudential rules and consumer protection provisions on both sides and lead to an examination, exchange and recognition of best practices in regulation and enforcement.
