This text focuses on 1) Turkey's attempts to secure a political settlement with its restive Kurdish population, and 2) the possible impact the democratization package announced by Ankara will have on the Kurds, both politically and linguistically. It also wonders if there is a role the EU can play in implementing the package, which was unveiled in September 2013.
