This report is a summary of a meeting on the drafting of anti-torture legislation. Some of the topics covered in the meeting included how anti-torture legislation is drafted in a number of different countries; legislative strategies in implementing anti-torture legislation; the elements that make up the definition of torture as a crime in a legislative process; and challenges related to the implementation of anti-torture laws.
