This commentary focuses on the increase in terrorist activities, particularly by Al-Qaeda and similar groups in Asia. The author predicts that the withdrawal of western troops from Afghanistan in 2014 will revive Taliban-led terrorist and threaten stability and security worldwide. He concludes by recommending the development of tactical counter-terrorism and strategic capabilities in the coming decades to erode the support bases for terrorism.
