This policy brief talks about China's growing power and the way it affects regional security and geopolitics in Asia. It looks at how China's growing power has affected US policy toward the Asia Pacific; how this power has provided the country with the means to gain partners and influence policies in the region; and how China's neighbors and the US should react to Beijing's military power and regional security policy. The authors end the piece by saying that uncertainty remains over what impact China might have on its region and the world, but that as its rise is inevitable, the US and others should view it as a potential responsible stakeholder.
