This paper discusses the future course of the Sino-Indian relationship in the context of strengthening Japanese-Indian, Sino-American, and Sino-Russian relations. The author briefly outlines the historical development of Sino-Indian relations, including the enunciation of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. He then discusses how Chinese efforts to strengthen its relationship with the US and Russia, increased Japanese-Indian relations, and deteriorating US-Indian relations could all undermine these efforts.
