This commentary talks about the likelihood of a terrorist attack being carried out at the XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. The author focuses on the “Caucasus Emirate” Islamist militant movement which could carry out the attacks and the security measures that have been implemented to counter any such attack. She says that while there is a clear threat from this movement, unprecedented security measures and a decrease in strength of the group itself mean that it will not be easy for it to carry out an attack.
