This paper discusses the state of youth in post-Reformasi Indonesia and their characterization as both “demographic dividends” and “ticking time-bombs”. The authors reject both of these characterizations and argue that it is increasingly imperative that the opinions of youth on democratization and decentralization are taken into account.
