This fact sheet provides a statistical portrait of international arms transfers from 2009-2013. The five biggest exporters of major weapons in the period were the United States, Russia, Germany, China and France and the five biggest importers were India, China, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia. And how active were they and other nations? Well, when compared to 2004-2008, the volume of global arms transfers shot up (pardon the pun) by 14 percent.
