This brief examines the state of India’s relations with Myanmar and the prospects for deeper cooperation between the two neighbors. In particular, the author talks about India’s policy toward economic development in the India-Myanmar border region; what greater links between India's Northeast Region and western Myanmar could do for their economic and social development; and the security and border issues between the two countries. The author ends by stressing the need for the two countries to cooperate on all fronts in order to get the most out of their relationship.
