This commentary discusses US delays in endorsing IMF reforms - such as shifting IMF quotas and voting power to emerging countries - and their impact on global economic governance. More specifically, the author examines the internal political dynamics in the US that have impeded congressional approval of IMF reforms and argues that the US should contribute to maintaining a stable global economy by finally endorsing the reforms.
