Prior to the announcement of the official results, this commentary discusses Indonesia's April 2014 parliamentary elections and the impact they could have on the political landscape in the country. The author argues that due to the likely absence of a clear majority in the parliament, coalition building will be necessary. He also discusses what he sees as the two main uncertainties that remain following the elections: the character of the next parliament and that of the next president.
