This collection of papers looks at arms control and national security issues globally, with a particular focus on the Middle East. The articles probe proliferation-related challenges and dilemmas, and propose directions for dealing with them. More specifically, they look at the nuclear situation in Pakistan and weapons trafficking in Sinai; Europe's efforts to confront Iran’s nuclear ambitions; the threat of autonomous unmanned robots in future warfare; complex deterrence equations on the basis of new research into the US-Israel-Iraq deterrence triangle in the 1991 Gulf War; and the possibility of an arms control treaty to curb cyber warfare.
