This paper examines Indonesia's position on the territorial disputes existing in the South China Sea and its role in efforts to resolve them. Overall, the author explains why he thinks it is incorrect to believe that Indonesia's efforts to enhance understanding and mutual trust in the South China Sea region are undermined by it outlining its position on China's nine dash line, which sets out Beijing's maritime claims in the region.
