This paper discusses the policies of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan towards Afghanistan, as well as the contributions these countries have made to the military campaign and reconstruction efforts in the country. The author also looks at how these countries view conflict resolution and stabilization in Afghanistan and outlines their security concerns about the troop withdrawal in 2014. She concludes with a brief overview of a series of Central Asian initiatives aimed at stabilizing Afghanistan.
