This report examines 15 of the most important votes that took place in the European Parliament between 2009 and 2014 to demonstrate the role the institution plays in shaping EU legislation. The author also analyzes how the political make-up of the parliament affects the results of votes within the institution. Finally, the paper examines the political parties Denmark has in the European Parliament, including their allocation of seats and their voting behavior.
