This paper discusses the security problems facing the Bay of Bengal as well as competition between China and India over influence in the region. The author states that India has long been the biggest naval power in the bay and that in 2013 the country announced that it should be considered the region's security provider. However, he also outlines how China has been expanding its infrastructure in around the region and how this has fueled India's anxiety about its hold. He also discusses US interests in the area and how it should manage its relations with countries in the region.
