This brief provides an overview of the main points of agreement and disagreement between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance in India’s General Elections in 2014. Focusing on the key economic, development, foreign policy and security related objectives of both parties, the authors highlight the potential changes in the country’s governance that may arise from a change in power after the general elections.
