This report examines the triangular relationship between Myanmar, China and the US. In particular, it focuses on 1) the competing policies China and the US have towards Nay Pyi Daw; 2) how the two great powers perceive each other's actions; and 3) how Myanmar attempts to navigate its political way between the other two states. The report concludes by arguing that the interactions between the three countries can indeed be mutually reinforcing and cooperative, provided their perceptions of each other change.
