This paper explores the means available to maintain positive social behavior and build a culture of respect online in the context of a multicultural society such as Singapore. The author first reviews literature on anti-social online behavior and outlines the factors that impact and lead to such behavior. She then looks at incidents of anti-social behavior among Singaporean internet users, as well as legislative and educational measures put in place to sustain multicultural society and tolerance in the country. Finally, she suggests additional measures that could be adopted by Singapore to help improve online behavior.
