This report discusses police and community-based security reforms in Northern Ireland and their impact on the peace process in the country. Among other issues, the authors examine Northern Ireland's community policing, management of public disorder, and its management of the transition since the signing of the Good Friday Agreement in 1998. They also discuss the lessons learned from these practices for policing and security transformation in conflict situations.
