This commentary discusses China’s foreign policy, with a particular focus on whether the country will adopt a doctrine to dominate Asia and reduce US influence in the region, as well as what policy Asian countries should adopt in their relations with Beijing. Overall, the authors argue that China does not yet have the capabilities to dominate Asia and that other Asian countries should continue to engage with China while preparing for the end of US dominance in the region.
