This brief examines India’s participation in the negotiations for the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), which includes the ten ASEAN countries as well as the six major economies of the Asia-Pacific region (Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea). The author looks at the opportunities as well as the key challenges for India regarding the RCEP, which constitutes the largest trade deal the country has ever negotiated.
