This commentary discusses the possible security implications for Indonesia if some of its citizens who have gone to fight in the Syrian civil war return home. The authors also look at what impact the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham’s (ISIS) takeover of parts of Iraq and Syria could have on the way militant Islamist groups operate in Indonesia and discuss the growth of support for ISIS in the country.
