This paper discusses the extent of support in Indonesia for the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) and the Caliphate it declared on June 29 2014. Overall, the authors suggest there has been a mixed response from Indonesia's jihadi community. However, they also argue that support from certain groups for ISIS and dissatisfaction among radical youths towards the groups who provided a comparably muted response to ISIS’s declaration could lead to more violence in Indonesia.
