This commentary discusses how the seemingly inconclusive outcome of the country’s 2014 presidential elections may force a restructuring of the country's political alignments, and therefore to a stronger government. Whether the restructuring will occur or not will depend on Joko Widodo's ability to lure the second largest party in the Indonesian Parliament over to his side, and thus necessarily expand his parliamentary coalition.
