This commentary discusses Indonesia’s decision to revise all its bilateral investment treaties (BITs) and suggests that this stems from the country’s desire to attain a fairer deal for itself in such treaties. The author also discusses the history of Indonesia’s BITs and how he thinks Indonesia should approach the revision of these treaties.
