This paper examines some of the most contentious issues ahead of the 2014 Indonesian presidential elections including the possibility that the validity of election results will be questioned due to problems with the official voters’ list. The author also comments on Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) chances of being elected, his political profile, likely party alliances, and the way he his portrayed in the media.
