This paper examines the reaction of European countries to the US strategic pivot to the Asia-Pacific. The authors first argue that though they have not disappeared, Europe's concerns over US disengagement from European security affairs have diminished since the start of the rebalance. They then examine the reactions of particular actors and states to the rebalance - including those of Germany, the UK, France, NATO and the EU - and their increasing interests in the Asia Pacific region. Finally, they look at how the US and Europe can increase their levels of cooperation so that they can further their shared interests in the Asia Pacific region.
