This note discusses the media landscape in India and in particular the concentration of its national level media in the hands of three media empires. It especially focuses on the problems facing 'The Hindu' - an English-language daily and one of the few remaining media operations that is not part of one of the three media giants - and what these could mean for the media landscape in the country.
