This commentary examines the debate in Israel over the need to reform the country's military strategy and doctrine following the Israel Defence Forces' (IDF) performance in the 2014 Gaza conflict. The author suggests that the question at the heart of this debate is whether the IDF organization, strategy and doctrine meet the requirements of unconventional rather than conventional warfare.
