This commentary discusses the political activism of the Circassians both abroad and in their North Caucasus homeland. More specifically, the author outlines the conflict and developments leading to the emergence and intensification of the Circassian national movement and discusses what increased nationalism within the Circassian diaspora might mean for Russia.
