This report assesses Europe and Russia's relationship in the wake of the latter's annexation of Crimea and its ongoing subversion of Ukraine. More specifically, the report 1) examines the long-standing competition between the EU and Russia and the role it has played in the Ukraine crisis; 2) analyzes the foreign policy reactions of France, Germany, Poland, and the US to the annexation of Crimea; and 3) outlines how Europe’s powers, NATO and the EU should recalibrate their relations with Russia.
