This report explains how community policing is carried out by the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) through Local Policing Partnership Boards (LPPBs). First, the authors examine some of the country's previous projects aimed at improving access to justice. They then analyze how community policing is organized in the country by looking at the role and responsibilities of LPPBs in 1) establishing linkages between local communities and the SLP; 2) enforcing local security, and 3) setting priorities of the SLP.
