This paper provides a summary of the issues discussed at a seminar on the role civil society plays in security building. More specifically, it focuses on 1) security issues addressed by civil society organizations (CSO); 2) the impact of CSO contribution to security building; and 3) opportunities and challenges for effective cooperation between CSOs and authorities in security building.
