This paper examines whether Israel had the right to lawfully engage in war against Gaza in July and August 2014 as well as if it violated the laws of armed conflict during its operations in the Palestinian territory. The author also looks at whether Hamas and other Palestinian resistance groups violated the laws of war during the conflict as well as what obligations third-party states and actors are under to remedy the situation.
