This paper examines the problem of pervasive violence against women in Papua New Guinea. The author argues that the Australian government, as the PNG’s largest aid donor, should press the PNG government to assign a higher priority to addressing this violence, assist local civil society efforts that aid the victims of violence and address its root causes.
