This paper examines the political dispute between Pakistan’s governing Party the Pakistan Mislim League (Nawaz) and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as well as the Pakistani Awami Tehreek (PAT) which started in August 2014. The author explains that while the PTI and PAT have different demands in the dispute, they have both called for the resignation of the Prime Minister and the Punjab Chief Minister, both of whom are members of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz). He also outlines how the government has responded to these demands and the subsequent political protests as well as public opinion of those involved in the dispute.
