This paper examines the marches led by Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Tahirul Qadri’s Pakistani Awami Tehreek in Pakistan in protest against the governing Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) party in August 2014 and their potential consequences. The author also outlines some of the other forms of political protest initiated by Imran Khan following the march.
