This brief provides an overview of the 2014 Southeast Asia Cooperation and Training (SEACAT) exercise, which involved the navies of the US, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. The author also looks at the role the exercise plays in regional maritime security and ASEAN-US defense links.
