This text includes 16 articles that focus on the problems Russian President Vladimir Putin faces in creating a Eurasian customs union. Some of the topics that are covered include 1) the ideological origins and substance of the Eurasian Union project; 2) Putin’s strategic objectives in creating the Union and the tactics he is employing to achieve them; 3) the various responses of post-Soviet states to Putin's initiative; and 4) how China, the EU and the US have responded to the project thus far.
